Director will go jumping through space and time.
Luc Besson has attached himself to a live-action adaptation of the French sci-fi comic book series ‘Valérian and Laureline.’
Created by Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mezieres back in 1967, the comics followed the adventures of Valérian, a spatio-temporal agent, and his female companion, Laureline, as they travelled the universe through space and time.
‘The Fifth Element’ helmer, a long-time fan of the comic book series, will write and direct the sci-fi adventure, which Variety says will be in English.
Besson’s production banner, EuroCorp, were behind an animated adaptation of the comics back in 2007. The series, titled ‘Time Jam: Valerian & Laureline,’ was broadcast in France from 2007 to 2008.
