Guy Pearce and Nick Nolte to also star.
THR reports that Kristen Wiig (‘Bridesmaids’), Hailee Steinfeld (‘Can a Song Save Your Life?’), Guy Pearce (‘Lawless’) and Nick Nolte (‘Gangster Squad’) have all signed on for roles in the indie dramatic comedy ‘Hateship, Friendship.’
Based on Canadian author Alice Munro’s 2002 book, ‘Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage,’ the film centres on a nanny (Wiig) hired to care for a rather wild teenage girl (Steinfeld) whose mother has recently died. Using email, the girl orchestrates a romance between the nanny and the father, a recovering addict living in a different town. Nolte will be playing the girl’s grandfather, who blames Pearce’s character for the death of the girl’s mother.
Liza Johnsonon (‘Return’) is attached to direct, with the screenplay coming from Mark Poirier.
