Tim Story to direct the duo.
Kevin Hart (‘The Five Year Engagement,’ ‘Think Like A Man’) is set to join Ice Cube (‘21 Jump Street,’ ‘Rampart’) on the long-in-development comedy ‘Ride Along,’ reports Deadline.
With Tim Story attached to direct the comedy sees Hart playing “a second-grade teacher who is ready to get married, but first he must survive a Training Day-like ride-along experience with his fiancée’s tough cop brother, who doesn’t want the marriage to happen and tries to scare off the suitor.”
The project has had drafts from scribes like ‘The Dictator’ co-star Jason Mantzoukas and Greg Coolidge, and will now get a new rewrite from screenwriting duo Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (‘R.I.P.D,’ ‘Clash of the Titans,’ ‘Crazy/Beautiful’).
Cube will produce the film via his Cube Vision banner with LBI Entertainment’s Matt Alvarez, Rainforest Films’ Will Packer, and Larry Brezner also on board.
