Drama rounds out casting as filming commences.
Jennifer Ehle (‘Robocop,’ ‘Zero Dark Thirty’), Andre Holland (’42,’ ‘Sugar’), and comedian/actor Bill Burr (‘The Heat,’ ‘Breaking Bad’) have all joined the cast of the indie drama ‘Black and White.’
Re-teaming Kevin Costner with his ‘Upside Of Anger’ director Mike Binder, the film focuses on Costner’s character, Elliot Anderson, a grieving widower who finds himself embroiled in a custody battle over his bi-racial granddaughter with the girl’s paternal grandmother (played by Octavia Spencer).
Deadline hears that Holland will be playing Costner’s drug addict son-in-law, who he blames for his own daughter’s death. Racial tension and bitterness erupt as they wage battle over the child. Production kicks off this week in New Orleans with Mpho Koaho and newcomer Jillian Estell rounding out the cast.
