Justin Chadwick-directed drama rounds out cast…
‘Philomena’ star Judi Dench, Jack O’Connell (‘Unbroken’), Holliday Grainger (‘The Riot Club’), and Zach Galifianakis (‘The Hangover’) have become the latest additions to the cast of ‘Tulip Fever,’ director Justin Chadwick’s 17th-century love story based on Deborah Moggach’s 1999 bestselling novel of the same name.
Currently shooting in the U.K, the period piece is set during a time when tulipomania has seized the populace, and follows the illicit romance between an artist (Dane DeHaan) and the married young woman (played by Alicia Vikander) he has been commissioned to paint. The two invest in the risky tulip market in hopes to build a future together.
Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz, Matthew Morrison (‘Glee’), newcomer Cressida Bonas, and models-turning-actresses Cara Delevingne (‘Anna Karenina’) and Daisy Lowe also star.
Dench will take the role of the Abbess of St. Ursula’s, a rescuer of orphan children, while Morrison will play a drunken bohemian artist. Delevingne and Lowe are playing the artists’ models.
The screenplay comes from ‘Shakespeare in Love’ scribe Tom Stoppard.
