Joaquin Phoenix has revealed that he is to quit acting to pursue a career in music.
The Walk The Line star told reporters that Two Lovers, his upcoming film with Gwyneth Paltrow, will be his last.
“I want to take this opportunity to give you the exclusive, and to talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor,” he said at a benefit in San Francisco to honour Paul Newman.
He added: “I’m not doing films anymore, I’m working on my music. I’m done. I’ve been through that.”
Charlatans singer Tim Burgess revealed earlier this year that he had recorded tracks with Phoenix, but admitted that his perfectionism was holding up an album release.
