Wicklow native joins ‘The Secret Scripture’ adaptation…
Jack Reynor (‘What Richard Did,’ ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’) has become the latest addition to the cast of Jim Sheridan’s ‘The Secret Scripture.’
Featuring a script by Johnny Ferguson, the film is adapted from Sebastian Barry’s Booker-nominated bestseller of the same name and follows Roseanne McNulty, a 100-year-old woman in at Roscommon Regional Mental Hospital and her relationship with her psychiatrist.
Rooney Mara (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) and Vanessa Redgrave (‘Foxcatcher’) star, playing younger and older version of Roseanne. Jeremy Irons (‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’) also stars.
Jessica Chastain (‘Miss Julie,’ ‘Zero Dark Thirty’) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (‘Dracula’) were initially set to star, but had to pull out due to scheduling difficulties.
Sheridan’s long-time collaborator Noel Pearson is producing via his banner, Ferndale Films, with the backing of the Irish Film Board. Production is pencilled in for a September start with the film to be entirely shot in Ireland.
Reynor will next be seen starring in Gerard Barrett’s ‘Glassland’ when it opens in cinemas September 26th 2014.
