Well-received horror short being adapted.
Lionsgate is in negotiations to acquire Italian helmer Francesco Calabrese’s horror short ‘Lovely Monster’ with plans to develop it into a big screen feature, reports Variety.
Unleashed on the internet earlier this year, the short tells the story of Sophia, a young woman dealing with a rare and very dangerous condition.
Calabrese would take directing duties on the big screen version with John Scott 3 providing the script. Scott 3 most recently penned the Black List screenplay ‘Maggie,’ a horror-infused tale starring Chloë Moretz and Paddy Considine that follows a teenage girl who slowly becomes a zombie.
