Gothic tale swapping out its female lead.
‘Stoker’ star Mia Wasikowska is in talks to star opposite Charlie Hunnam (‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘Sons of Anarchy’) in Guillermo del Toro’s haunted house thriller ‘Crimson Peak,’ according to TheWrap.
With a script by Del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon, the gothic story centres on Edith Cushing, a young author who discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be.
Should Wasikowska commit to the project, she would be replacing Emma Stone (‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’) who was originally set for the part before exiting last month due to a scheduling issue.
Principal photography is set for early next year with Benedict Cumberbatch (‘Star Trek into Darkness’) and ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jessica Chastain co-starring as siblings from an aristocratic family.
