Next film in the fairy tale series wants Darabont behind the camera…
Veteran filmmaker Frank Darabont is reportedly in negotiations to take the helm of Universal’s follow-up to ‘Snow White and the Huntsman.’
According to the reports, the studio is playing with the idea of spinning off from the 2012 original, with Darabont’s pitch focusing exclusively on Chris Hemsworth‘s Huntsman character.
THR adds that Charlize Theron (‘Mad Max: Fury Road’) will be back to reprise her role as the villainous Queen Ravenna. However, Kristen Stewart may not return.
Darabont is best known for directing ‘The Mist,’ ‘The Green Mile,’ ‘The Shawshank Redemption.’ He most recently adapted Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard’s ‘The Walking Dead’ for the small screen.
‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ directed by Rupert Sanders, grossed just under $400 million at the worldwide box office.
