Rick Famuyiwa, the director behind the excellent coming-of-age tale ‘Dope,’ has been tapped to direct the ‘The Flash’ for Warner Bros, THR has learned.
The film sees Ezra Miller (‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower,’ ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’) playing Barry Allen, the classic DC Comics hero known as “the fastest man alive.” Miller made his debut as The Flash in Zack Synder’s ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.’
Seth Grahame-Smith (‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies,’ ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’) was originally set to make his directorial debut with the superhero flick, but exited the project over creative differences with the studio. Famuyiwa is believed to keeping Grahame-Smith’s script, which is based off a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (‘The LEGO Movie,’ ’21 Jump Street’).
