Burton young adult adaptation eyes first cast member…
Eva Green (‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,’ ‘Penny Dreadful’) has entered into talks to reunite with her ‘Dark Shadows’ helmer Tim Burton for ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.’
The film is based on the Ranson Riggs’ novel about Jacob, a 16-year-old who heads off to his late grandfather’s home on an isolated island off Wales, where he discovers the abandoned remains of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here—one of whom was his own grandfather—were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
Variety hears that Green would be playing the title character, who acts as a guardian for the orphans.
Production is planned for a February start with Jane Goldman providing the script and Chernin Entertainment producing.
