Pair will lead remake of French comedy…
It has been confirmed that ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ and ‘Lone Survivor’ star Eric Bana and Ricky Gervais are teaming for a remake of the 2009 French comedy ‘Special Correspondents.’
Variety has Bana leading the film, as “a struggling New York-based radio journalist who fakes front line war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Manhattan restaurant.”
In the Frédéric Auburtin-directed original, France mobilizes to gain the release of two kidnapped journalists in Iraq, but only the victims know the crime has been faked.
As well as starring alongside Bana, Gervais will write, direct and produce the remake.
