Guillermo Del Toro next four projects confirmed.
Guillermo Del Toro is one busy Mexican boy! The director’s schedule has been released and it looks like he’s fully booked till 2017 (and maybe beyond!)
His first priority is ‘The Hobbit,’ to which he has committed the next five years. He has begun writing the project with Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, collaborating via video conferencing and trips to New Zealand every three weeks.
After that, Del Toro has made a long-term commitment with Universal US, directing at least four projects for the studio, including remakes of ‘Frankenstein,’ ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ and Kurt Vonnegut’s ‘Slaughterhouse-Five.’ The fourth project is an adaptation of ‘Drood,’ a Dan Simmons novel published in February.
Though it is not fully confirmed, it looks like ‘Drood’ will be his first project in 2012.
