Daniele Luchetti at the IFI

Bliss is a rebellious Texas teen who throws in her small-town beauty pageant crown for the rowdy world of roller derby.

Italian director Daniele Luchetti will present his latest feature ‘My Brother is an Only Child’ with a special screening and public interview at the Irish Film Institute tonight, Wednesday, March 26th.

The film, set in the ‘60s and ‘70s, takes us through the lives of two Itlalian brothers (Elio Germano and Riccardo Scamarcio) with diverging political views (not to mention personalities). It may be a simple story, but the characters and the typical Italian humour won the audience over at this year’s Jameson Dublin International Film festival.

The director will be at the IFI on Wednesday 26 March. Screening begins at 6pm.

TIDBIT: Luchetti was nominated for the Cannes Golden Palm in 1991 for ‘Il Portaborse’ and was nominated for the Venice Golden Lion in 1998 for ‘Little Teachers’.
