Actor and director set for Besson-produced action thriller.
Back in August we told you how Kevin Costner (‘Man of Steel,’ ‘Jack Ryan’ ‘Hatfields & McCoys’) was being sought to take the lead in a Secret Service action thriller with McG being lined up to take the director’s chair. Well it appears that deals have been reached as Variety is reporting that both Costner and the ‘This Means War’ director are now confirmed to be attached.
Formerly known as ‘Three Days to Kill,’ the film will see Costner playing “a dying Secret Service agent who decides to retire in order to reconnect with his estranged family. When the Secret Service offers him access to an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment, he finds himself trying to juggle his family, his mission and the drug’s hallucinatory side effects.”
Luc Besson and Adi Hasak co-wrote the screenplay and will produce alongside Virginie Besson-Silla and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Relativity president Tucker Tooley will serve as executive producer.
