Smulders and Pratt take supporting roles in comedy remake.
‘How I Met Your Mother’ and ‘Avengers Assemble’ star Cobie Smulders and Chris Pratt (‘Five Year Engagement,’ ‘Parks and Recreation’) have signed on to join Vince Vaughn on the cast of ‘Starbuck.’
A remake of the 2011 French-Canadian hit of the same name, the comedy follows “a middle-aged man (Vaughn) whose life is turned upside down when he learns he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation. When a few hundred of the children express an irrepressible need to meet their father, he must decide whether or not he will step up and reveal his identity.”
Variety reports that Smulders would be taking the female lead, the pregnant girlfriend of Vaughn’s character, while Pratt is set to take the role of Vaughn’s lawyer.
Production is scheduled to begin later this year with Ken Scott, who helmed the original film, writing and directing.
