Remake of Western classic may star Washington and Pratt…
Multiple outlets are reporting that Chris Pratt (‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ ‘Parks and Recreation’) is in “early talks” to star alongside Denzel Washington in the upcoming remake of ‘Magnificent Seven.’
A remake of Akira Kurosawa’s ‘Seven Samurai,’ the 1960 original starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz as a group of gunmen hired to protect a small Mexican village from a group of savage bandits led by Calvera (played by Eli Wallach).
Washington’s ‘Equalizer’ helmer Antoine Fuqua is attached to direct, with the most recent draft of the script coming from ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ and ‘The Blind Side’ screenwriter John Lee Hancock.
Pratt will next be seen starring in ‘Jurassic World,’ when it hits Irish cinemas June 2015.
