Stars locked in for offbeat romantic comedy.
Deadline is exclusively reporting that ‘Avengers Assemble’ star Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan (‘Penthouse North’) are set to lead the “anti-romantic comedy” ‘A Many Splintered Thing’ for director Justin Reardon.
The film tells the story of “a young man disillusioned by love who meets a breathtaking young woman at a charity dinner by pretending to be a philanthropist. Turns out that she’s engaged to a guy who doesn’t like her going on dates. Challenged by the chase, and egged on by his eclectic friends, he feigns a platonic relationship in order to keep seeing her as he tries to conquer her heart.”
Written by Chris Shafer and Paul Vicknair, the screenplay was featured on the 2011 Black List and also placed in the finals the 2011 Nicholl Fellowship.
Nicolas Chartier and Craig Flores of Voltage Pictures are producing, along with and Wonderland Sound & Vision’s McG and Mary Viola. Evans will also serve as executive producer.
