Actress linked to biopic of the slain war journalist.
Charlize Theron (‘Prometheus’) and producer Basil Iwanyk (‘The Expendables 2,’ ‘The Town’) are set to team for a biopic of the late war journalist Marie Colvin.
THR says the project will be based on Marie Brenner’s Vanity Fair article “Marie Colvin’s Private War.”
An award-winning American journalist, Colvin wrote for The Sunday Times, covering wars and conflicts in Kosovo, Chechnya, East Timor, Sri Lanka — where she lost an eye. The 56 year-old died in February while covering the siege of Homs in Syria when the building from where she was covering the uprising was shelled by the Syrian Army.
While Theron is not committed to star, the drama is reportedly being developed as a starring vehicle for the actress. The ‘Snow White and the Hunstman’ star will produce the project with her Denver and Delilah Films partners Beth Kono and AJ Dix.
