‘Christopher Robin’ and ‘Fargo’ star Ewan McGregor is reportedly in talks to star opposite Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (’Fargo,’ ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’), Jurnee Smollett-Bell (‘True Blood,’ ‘Lovecraft Country’), and Rosie Perez (‘Rise,’ ‘White Men Can’t Jump’) in the ‘Suicide Squad’ spinoff ‘Birds of Prey.’
Penned by Christina Hodson (‘Bumblebee’), the film sees Harley Quinn (Robbie) and three other female superheroes – Black Canary (Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Winstead) and Renee Montoya (Perez) – come together to save the life of young Cassandra Cain from one of Gotham City’s brutally sadistic kingpins, Black Mask.
Cathy Yan is attached to direct the superhero spinoff, which is pencilled in for a February 2020 release.
