CANDYMAN Director Set For Modern-Day FRANKENSTEIN Remake

Mary Shelley’s classic to get contemporary reboot…

British filmmaker Bernard Rose (‘Mr Nice,’ ‘Candyman’) is writing and directing a contemporary reboot of Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein,’ with Xavier Samuel (‘Fury,’ ‘Twilight: Eclipse’) attached to play the iconic monster.

Per Deadline, the film is set in “present day Los Angeles and is told from the perspective of Adam/The Monster, who is created by a husband and wife team of eccentric scientists only to be met with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him.”

Danny Huston (‘American Horror Story,’ ‘Big Eyes’) and Carrie-Anne Moss (‘Elephant Song,’ ‘Pompeii’) co-star, playing Victor and Elizabeth Frankenstein. Rose’s ‘Candyman’ star Tony Todd is on board for a supporting role.

Jennifer Holliday Morrison, Gabriela Bacher, Heidi Jo Markel, Christian Angermayer, and Klemens Hallmann are producing.
