Michael Caine and Ray Winstone for science fiction version of William Shakespeare’s Henry V
Michael Caine and Ray Winstone have signed up to star in a science fiction version of William Shakespeare’s Henry V.
The original chronicledthe young King Henry V as he ascends to the throne following his father’s passing. the new version moves the action into “an age of the apocalypse” where Henry fights a war against a neighbouring enemy after quelling an rebellion in his own country.
Henry V has been adapted for the big screen twice before. Laurence Olivier directed and starred in a 1944 version, while Kenneth Branagh made his directorial debut with a 1989 adaptation of the play.
Vinnie Jones, Gerard Depardieu and Derek Jacobi are also leading the cast for first-time director Michael Anderson.
