Johnny Depp to play the Mad Hatter.
Reports suggest that Johnny Depp is to star in Tim Burton’s new film Alice in Wonderland.The film, which will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D, will reportedly feature Depp as The Mad Hatter, according to media reports.
Depp has starred in six Burton films so far, including Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands and more.
Unknown Australian actress Mia Wasikowska has already been signed up to star to as Alice, the main character in Lewis Carrol’s fantasy novel.
The film will be shot in 3-D after Burton signed a two-movie deal with Disney in November last year. Burton will release Frankenweenie, a remake of his 1984 film, next year, before Alice in Wonderland in 2010.
