Film will shoot in Dublin and Luxembourg starting this week.
Brian Gleeson (‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ ‘Love/Hate’) and Canadian actress Jessica Paré (‘Mad Men,’ ‘Suck’) are to take the leads in ‘Standby,’ a low-budget romantic comedy that will be directed by Irish directors Rob and Ronan Burke (‘The Importance of Being Whatever’).
Gleeson will be playing Alan, a 28-year-old working at the Tourist Information Desk in Dublin Airport, who bumps into the long lost love of his life, Alice (Paré), who is waiting on standby for a flight back America. Featuring a script by Pierce Ryan, ‘Standby’ is about what happens when your twenties don’t go how you planned. It’s about falling in love, with a girl and a city again.
Dublin-based Black Sheep Productions will co-produce the film with Luxembourg’s Paul Thiltges Distributions.
