Actor takes lead in two new projects.
Variety is reporting that Adam Brody has attached himself to two new high-profile indie projects – ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Some Girls.’
The first, ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ is a comedy that follows a group of staffers at a design firm who go on an office retreat to a tropical island, where total chaos erupts after they become stranded. According to Variety, a ‘Lord of the Flies’-type situation unfolds, forcing Brody’s character to match wits with the power-hungry leader in order to rescue his co-workers. Rob Huebel, Dennis Haysbert, Kristen Schaal and Jean-Claude Van Damme (yes, you read that right) will co-star. Rob Meltzer will direct the Jeff Kauffmann-penned comedy.
‘Some Girls,’ is an adaptation of Neil LaBute’s play that will be directed by Jennifer Getzinger (‘Mad Men’). It follows a successful writer who, before getting married, decides to travel across the country to meet his five ex-girlfriends in a series of hotel rooms. LaBute adapted the screenplay and will also produce.
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is set to start shooting next month in Puerto Rico, while ‘Some Girls’ will kick off production in April in Los Angeles.
