Wes Bentley, Alexander Ludwig and more also on board.
Oscar nominated actress Abigail Breslin (‘Ender’s Game,’ ‘Zombieland,’ ‘Little Miss Sunshine’) has closed a deal to take the lead in the indie horror thriller ‘Final Girl.’
Marking the feature directorial debut of photographer Tyler Shields, the film follows the shy and vulnerable loner Veronica (Breslin), the new girl in school who is the perfect target for a group of teenage boys who lure girls into the woods to hunt and kill them for sport. It’s only after they get her alone that she turns the tables on them, escaping and revealing she’s armed and knows how to defend herself. Little do they know, Veronica is an assassin-in-training, and she’s chosen killing these boys as her final test.
‘The Hunger Games’ actors Wes Bentley and Alexander Ludwig are also attached to star, along with Logan Huffman (‘V’), Michael Trevino (‘The Vampire Diaires’), Connor Paolo and Francesca Eastwood.
The screenplay was penned by Adam Prince based on a story by Steve Scarlata, Alejandro Seri and Johnny Silver. Production is set to kick off next month.
