McAdams out, Wright in.
Robin Wright (‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’) has entered in to talks to replace Rachel McAdams as the female lead in Anton Corbijn’s ‘A Most Wanted Man,’ says Variety.
An adaptation of John le Carré’s 2008 political thriller novel, the story takes place in present day Hamburg, where a near-dead half-Chechen, half Russian man on the run arrives in the city’s Islamic community desperate for help and looking to recover his late Russian father’s ill-gotten fortune. The man gets caught up in the war on terror when his fate becomes entwined with a young female lawyer and private British banker. Philip Seymour Hoffman is attached to co-star.
The film is scheduled to commence principal photography later this year with a screenplay by Andrew Bovell (‘Edge of Darkness’).
