WORLD WAR Z Being Eyed As a Potential Trilogy

Director and studio looking to turn book into trilogy.

It appears that there may be plans to turn the Brad Pitt-toplined zombie epic ‘World War Z’ into a trilogy.

The LA Times is reporting that Paramount Pictures and director Marc Forster (‘Finding Neverland,’ ‘Quantum of Solace’) are eyeing ‘World War Z’ “as a trilogy that would have the grounded, gun-metal realism of, say, Damon’s Jason Bourne series tethered to the unsettling end-times vibe of ‘The Walking Dead.’”

Loosely adapted from Max Brook’s classic and much loved book of the same name, the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

The ensemble cast also includes Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Julia Levy-Boeken, David Morse and Elyes Gabel. ‘Wold War Z’ is scheduled for release in December 2012.
