Pair team for buddy comedy.
Multiple outlets are reporting that Reese Witherspoon (‘Devil’s Knot,’ ‘Mud’) and ‘Modern Family’ actress Sofia Vergara have been set as the leads in the Universal Pictures comedy ‘Don’t Mess With Texas.’
Based on a spec script by David Feeney and John Quaintance, the female driven comedy is said to follow a cop and a prisoner on the run in Texas, with crooked cops in hot pursuit.
Witherspoon will also serve as producer on the project, producing alongside Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea. Filming is slated for next March with Dana Fox also producing.
