“Who loves ya, baby?”
Mike Fleming over at Deadline is hearing word that screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (‘Skyfall’) have been tapped to pen the script for Universal Pictures’ big screen take of ‘Kojak’ that has Vin Diesel attached to headline.
Diesel, who recently wrapped on ‘Fast and Furious 6’ would be taking the role of tough-talking, smooth scalped NYPD Detective Lieutenant Theo Kojak, famously played by Telly Savalas in the series which ran from 1973-78.
The big screen take will reportedly re-imagine and contemporise the cop drama.
In addition to starring, Diesel will produce the film with his One Race Films partner Samantha Vincent.
