Vanity Fair supports writers and cancels party.
Coming out in support of the writers, Vanity Fair have canceled their annual Oscars Party. A statement posted on VanityFair.com read, ‘”In support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party. We want to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and we look forward to hosting our 15th Oscar party next year.” Despite the news and the continued strike, it is hoped the 80th Oscars will go ahead as planned at the end of the month.
