UNCHARTED: DRAKE’S FORTUNE Enlists NATIONAL TREASURE Scribes

Neil Burger no longer attached to direct.

The husband and wife screenwriting team of Cormac and Marianne Wibberley (‘Common Law,’ ‘National Treasure,’ ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’) have been set the task of penning the video game adaptation ‘Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune’ for Sony Pictures, reports Variety.

Created and developed by Naughty Dog, the ‘Uncharted’ series follows treasure hunter Nathan “Nate” Drake as he travels around the world to uncover various historical mysteries. The film adaptation is based on the first entry in the series and charts Drake’s journey as he seeks the fabled lost treasure of El Dorado in South America with the help of journalist Elena Fisher and mentor Victor “Sully” Sullivan.

‘Limitless’ director Neil Burger, who signed on to take director’s chair last year, is no longer attached to direct the project. Sony will hold off hiring a new helmer until the Wibberleys complete their script.
