Twilight author Stephenie Meyer’s novel The Host will be turned into a film.
The book follows a group of parasite alients called Souls. One such Soul – dubbed the Wanderer — joins itself to a dying human to find the survivors of the human race.
Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz have snapped up the screen rights to the book.
Andrew Niccol will write and direct the movie. The producers were prompted to hire Niccol when they asked Meyer to name some of her favourite sci-fi films – Niccol’s Gattaca and The Truman Show were in her top five.
