Tommy Lee Jones to Write, Direct and Star in THE HOMESMAN

Veteran actor will also produce the drama.

Variety has learned that ‘Men in Black 3’ star Tommy Lee Jones is set to write, direct and star in the pioneer period piece ‘The Homesman.’

The story follows “a pioneer woman and a claim-jumping rascal of a man (Jones) who usher three insane women on an odyssey from Nebraska to Iowa, braving the elements along the way.”

Jones will produce the film via his Javelina Film Company, with Michael Fitzgerald producing through his Ithaca Films banner. The veteran actor previously directed 2005’s ‘The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada,’ and the TV movies ‘The Sunset Limited’ and ‘The Good Old Boys.’
