Will Poulter also boards the revenge thriller….
Tom Hardy is confirmed to be reuniting with his ‘Inception’ co-star Leonardo DiCaprio for the period revenge thriller ‘The Revenant.’
Based on the Michael Punke novel, the thriller is set in the 1800s and centres on Hugh Glass, a frontiersman and fur trapper who is mauled by a bear. Unable to carry him back to civilization because of the impossible terrain, the captain of his ship hires two mercenaries to stay behind and bury him after he dies. Instead, the men rob him and leave him to die alone in the cold. Unfortunately for them, he recovers and sets out to take his revenge on the men who abandoned him.
Young British actor Will Poulter (‘The Maze Runner,’ ‘We’re The Millers’ and ‘Son of Rambo’) is also attached for a supporting role in the Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film.
Filming is expected to get underway in September.
Steve Golin, Keith Redmon and David Kanter of Anonymous Content are on board to produce along with Inarritu, Arnon Milchan and James Skotchdopole.
