“The Merc with a Mouth” has a new director.
Deadline confirms reports that 20th Century Fox has tapped visual effects artist, Tim Miller is to make his directorial debut with ‘Deadpool,’ or as the Deadline article refers to it, ‘X-Men Origins: Deadpool.’
The VFX wiz has worked with the studio before, providing effects for their comic book movies, ‘X-Men’ and ‘Daredevil.’ The effects savant recently worked on the visuals-heavy ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.’
Miller created and owns Blur Studio, where he has directed numerous shorts and cutting-edge video game trailers. The studio is currently doing all the pre-vis for Ron Howard on ‘The Dark Tower.’ Miller and Blur were also very involved in the attempt to re-imagine the animated anthology Heavy Metal with segments to be directed by him, Jim Cameron, Zack Snyder, and David Fincher.
