Tim Burton and Michael Keaton Returning for BEETLEJUICE 2?

Sequel gets closer to becoming a reality…

The guys over at TheWrap are hearing that Tim Burton is officially in talks with Warner Bros. to step back into the director’s chair for a sequel to his 1988 supernatural comedy ‘Beetlejuice,’ with Michael Keaton expected to reprise his role as the titular bio-exorcist and haunter extraordinaire.

Stuck in development for over a decade now, the sequel received a new lease of life back in 2011 when author Seth Grahame-Smith (‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,’ ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’) come on board to pen the screenplay, and according to sources, the studio is very happy with the latest draft.

The trade points out that while it’s looking good for Burton to return to for the sequel, the film definitely won’t be his next project.
