THE SECRET SERVICE Casts Samuel L. Jackson As The Villain

Comic adaptation cast its big bad.

Director Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming adaptation of the Mark Millar and Dave Gibbon comic series ‘The Secret Service’ has found its big name villain, casting the great Samuel L. Jackson (‘RoboCop,’ ‘Oldboy,’ ‘Avengers Assemble’).

Adapted by Vaughn and regular collaborator Jane Goldman, the story follows M16 super-spy Jack London (Colin Firth), who takes his street-punk nephew Gary (played by newcomer Taron Egerton) under his wing with the aim of turning him into a suave gentlemen-agent in the mould of James Bond.

Vaughn will now turn his attention to casting his female lead, and according to Variety, the filmmaker’s shortlist includes Emma Watson (‘The Bling Ring,’ ‘Harry Potter’) and Bella Heathcote (‘Not Fade Away,’ ‘Dark Shadows’).
