Fresh from selling out five live shows at Dublin’s Olympia theatre the Boosh boys (aka Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt) are reportedly in talks to make a ‘Mighty Boosh’ Movie.

The British comedy began as a stage show in 1998 and built up a cult audience through subsequent radio and TV appearances. The recent season was one of the most watched shows on digital station BBC 3. It is unknown what format the movie will take or if it will contain some of the wacky musical numbers that helped make the show a hit.

BBC Films editor Christine Langan revealed that the project had huge potential, adding “Noel and Julian are phenomenally talented, there’s an existing, very loyal fan base”

Here’s hoping the film is better received than other UK comedies that got the big screen treatment such as ‘Bottom’ and ‘The League of Gentlemen’.
