The suits over at Warner Bros. are moving fast with a follow-up to Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s box office hit ‘The Lego Movie,’ tapping Chris (‘Robot Chicken,’ ‘Titan Maximum,’ ‘Moral Orel’) to direct.
McKay, who served as animation co-director on the 3D adventure comedy, will helm from a script by Jared Stern (‘The Internship,’ ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’) and Michelle Morgan (‘Girl Most Likely,’ ‘Middle of Nowhere’).
The first film, released last month, has gone on to gross more than $360 million worldwide. Warner Bros. executive Courtenay Valenti will oversee the sequel’s development, with Lord, Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee producing.
