Aussie actor in talks for reboot…
‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jason Clarke has entered into talks for a role in ‘Thor: The Dark World’ helmer Alan Taylor’s upcoming big screen reboot of the ‘Terminator’ franchise, tentatively titled ‘Terminator: Genesis.’
Deadline has Clarke up for the role of John Connor, the leader of the rebellion against Skynet, the self-aware artificial intelligence system bent on wiping out the human race. Arnold Schwarzenegger is believed to returning to the franchise to reprise his signature cyborg role.
British actress Emilia Clarke (‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Dom Hemingway’) and Brie Larson are in the mix for the female lead, that of Sarah Connor.
‘Terminator: Genesis’ is being produced by David Ellison of Skydance Productions, and his uber producing sister, Megan Ellison over at Annapurna. The screenplay was penned by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier.
