Tatum and Kunis Offered Wachowski Sci-Fi JUPITER ASCENDING

Siblings aim to have sci-fi in production this year.

Deadline has word that Warner Bros. has offered the Channing Tatum (’21 Jump Street,’ ‘Haywire’) and Mila Kunis (‘Friends with Benefits,’ ‘Black Swan’) the lead roles in the Lana and Andy Wachowki-directed sci-fi feature ‘Jupiter Ascending.’

Sadly the plot of film is being kept under wraps, but the project will be the siblings’ first major science fiction action franchise play since ‘The Matrix.’ Like that trilogy, ‘Jupiter Ascending’ is an original creation by the Wachowkis.

Andy and Lana recently wrapped on ‘Cloud Atlas’ with director Tom Tykwer, and were looking to direct an R rated drama about a gay relationship between a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi, but the duo had trouble locking down financing.

‘Juipiter Acending’ is “on track to start production later this year.”
