Stars in talks for Spielberg’s next.
Both Deadline and Variety are reporting that Anne Hathaway (‘The Dark Knight Rises’) and British actor Ben Whishaw (‘Skyfall’) are being eyed for roles opposite Chris Hemsworth in Steven Spielberg’s long-gestating adaptation of ‘Robopocalypse.’
Penned by Drew Goddard (‘Cabin in the Woods,’ ‘Cloverfield’), the screenplay is based on the novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson and explores the fate of the human race following a robot uprising.
Hathaway has been approached for the female lead, while Whishaw is being lined up for the role of a hacker named Lurker.
‘Robopocalypse’ is set to begin principal photography early 2013 with former 20th Century Fox head Tom Rothman producing alongside Spielberg.
