Michael Shannon is in talks to join the cast of Joan Jett biopic The Runaways.
Nominated for an Oscar for Revolutionary Road, Shannon would play Kim Fowley, the record producer and manager who was later accused of verbal, emotional and sexual abuse by Jett’s all-girl group The Runaways.
The movie, directed by Floria Sigismondi, will follow the short career of the rock act, with Twilight’s Kristen Stewart playing Jett and Dakota Fanning portraying lead singer Cheri Currie.
