Mendes gives update on his much antcipated Preacher pic…
Sam Mendes is taking time out to talk about the status of his much anticipated Preacher movie:
“You have to try and get one really good and then, if you’re lucky, you can make a second or a third,” said Mendes. “You can create something that’s going to run. But I think that there’s certainly more than enough for one good movie and plenty left over”, said the director of a potential franchise.
The original comic was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and ran from 1995-2000. Preacher told the story of a down-and-out Texas preacher possessed by Genesis, a supernatural entity conceived by the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon.
Though casting is still a long way off, Mendes seemed excited at the prospect of bringing the characters to life, saying the series has some “real good roles in there”
