Ryder to Join Statham and Franco on HOMEFRONT

Izabela Vidovic also boards cast.

Winona Ryder is in talks to join Jason Statham and James Franco in the Sylvester Stallone-scripted actioner ‘Homefront.’

Based on Chuck Logan’s 2006 crime novel of the same name, the story follows Phil Broker (Statham), an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he soon runs afoul of a villainous meth kingpin named Gator (Franco).

THR says that Ryder would be playing a former biker chick who is partnered with Franco’s kingpin. Child actor Izabela Vidovic (‘Up All Night’) is on board to play Statham’s daughter.

‘Homefront’ is scheduled to go into production in September in New Orleans with Gary Fleder (‘The Express,’ ‘Runaway Jury’) directing.
