Rupert Wyatt Circles LONDONGRAD with Michael Fassbender

Depp-produced spy thriller eyes possible director and star.

‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ director Rupert Wyatt is in early talks to make gritty thriller ‘Londongrad’ his next directorial effort.

Based on Alan Cowell’s book ‘The Terminal Spy: A True Story of Espionage, Betrayal and Murder,’ and adapted by David Scarpa (‘The Last Castle’), the film is the true story of Soviet KBG officer Alexander Litvinenko, who was poisoned by polonium-210 in 2006. On his deathbed, Litvinenko blamed then-Russian President Vladimir Putin for ordering the poisoning.

Variety reports that ‘X-Men: First Class’ star Michael Fassbender is circling the role of Litvinenko. Johnny Depp and Graham King will produce the dram under Depp’s Infinitum Nihil.
