Rufus Sewell Lands Villain Role in ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER

Timur Bekmambetov’s 3D movie has its villain

Variety reports that Rufus Sewell (‘Dark City,’ ‘The Illusionist’) has signed on for Timur Bekmambetov’s ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,’ joining an extensive cast that includes Benjamin Walker, Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson, Alan Tudyk and Robin McLeavy.

Sewell will play the lead vampire villain, Adam, in the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s bestselling novel. Adapted for the screen by the author himself, the movie is fictional take on the life of the 16th president and his on-going battle with vampires. When Lincoln was a nine-years-old, his mother was killed by a vampire and from that moment on, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance and vowed to rid the nation of the blood suckers.

Bekmambetov (‘Wanted’) will co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley (‘The Diving Bell and the Butterfly’).
