Roskam Takes Aronofsky

Brad Pitt-produced adaptation lands new director.

‘Bullhead’ helmer Michael Roskam has been tapped to replace Darren Aronofsky as the director of the adventure thriller ‘The Tiger.’

Based on the nonfiction book by John Vaillant, the story takes place on the Siberian plain, where human development is encroaching on the tiger’s habitat — and one tiger turns on the intruders. With townspeople being tracked and hunted with an almost supernatural power, a conservationist game warden must face down the tiger. It is a fight that only one of them can win.

The screenplay was penned by ‘Babel’ screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing via their Plan B banner with Aronofsky on board as producer alongside his Protozoa Pictures partners Mark Heyman and Ari Handel.
